The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation: Giving Back Where It Matters Most
As a REALTOR® in Ontario, you’re not just helping clients find their next home – you’re part of a powerful, province-wide movement that gives back to the communities where you live and work. The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation (ORCF) empowers REALTORS® like you to fundraise in support of shelter-related causes in the communities in which you live and work.
In 2024 alone, the Foundation distributed over $1.8 million in grants to organizations across Ontario – funded in part through the Every REALTOR® Campaign, where a small portion of your membership dues is reinvested into meaningful, local change.
That means your career is already part of something bigger. And it doesn’t stop there.
The Foundation is built byREALTORS®, forREALTORS® – and exists to support registered charities that offer refuge and safety to those experiencing homelessness, hunger, abuse, illness, or other life-altering challenges.

Why It Matters
Shelter and food insecurity are rising at unprecedented rates across Ontario.
Here’s a snapshot of the current landscape (Source: Association of Municipalities of Ontario, August 2023):
- 45% of Ontario tenant households spend more than 30% of their income on shelter—the highest rate in Canada.
- By 2025, an estimated 160,000 Ontario households will spend more than 50% of their income on rent.
- Food bank use is up 42% in the last three years—one-third of users are first-timers.
- 200,000 Ontarians are waiting for social housing.
- Ontario needs at least 99,000 new deeply affordable housing units to meet this demand.
How You Can Make an Impact
Whether you’re a new agent, team leader, or broker, there are so many ways to take action:
- Host a fundraiser or a community event on behalf of the Foundation.
- Register or support a rider in our annual Motorcycle Ride for Charity, on September 24–25.
- Follow and share our mission on social media. Every share brings awareness to the cause.
