The news that Luigi Favaro is no longer serving as CEO of the Ontario Real Estate Association marks the close of an important chapter for one of the most influential provincial real estate organizations in Canada.
For us, this moment is less about change and more about gratitude.
We had the privilege of working alongside Luigi for nearly two decades, first during his time as Vice President of Industry Partnerships and later as he transitioned into the role of CEO. During that time, Luigi demonstrated a style of leadership that was thoughtful, relationship-driven, and deeply committed to strengthening the real estate profession. He also brought a wonderful energy to everything he was a part of. We will miss that energy.
The Ontario Real Estate Association plays a significant role in our industry. Representing tens of thousands of REALTORS® across the province, OREA serves as a collective voice for real estate professionals in Ontario. The association works to advocate for homeowners and REALTORS®, provide education and professional development, and help shape policy and industry standards that impact the real estate landscape across the province. Its influence extends beyond Ontario, contributing to national conversations about the future of real estate in Canada.
Luigi understood the importance of that responsibility. He brought a genuine passion to the work, particularly when it came to building relationships across the country and strengthening the connection between organizations, leaders, and professionals who care deeply about this industry. Whether representing OREA at conferences, engaging with industry partners, or collaborating with leaders across Canada, Luigi carried that role with professionalism, enthusiasm, and authenticity.
His presence will undoubtedly be missed, not only within OREA, but at the many real estate conferences, leadership forums, and gatherings where conversations about the future of our profession take place. Luigi was a familiar and respected voice in those rooms.
What OREA is known for today, its strong advocacy, its national presence, and its commitment to supporting REALTORS® and homeowners alike, has been shaped in part by the leaders who helped guide it forward, and Luigi’s contributions during his tenure were certainly part of that story.
As organizations evolve and leadership transitions occur, the relationships built along the way remain meaningful. We look forward to continuing our relationship with OREA and supporting the important work the association does on behalf of REALTORS® and the real estate industry across Ontario.
