“The spring market gained a bit of momentum in April, with MLS® home sales rising for the third straight month and sitting only slightly below last year’s levels. At the same time, new listings came on strong, pushing inventory well above normal for this time of year and presenting buyers with more opportunities,” said Derrek de Jonge, President of the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg & Area Association of REALTORS®. “Prices remained under pressure as the MLS® HPI Composite Benchmark Price declined in April, in part due to the continued double-digit declines in the townhouse segment. That said, the narrowing decline in the benchmark price for townhouses is a welcome signal we will be keeping a close eye on. In a market with more choice and more nuance, a trusted local REALTOR® can help both buyers and sellers by providing unique insights about neighbourhoods and available properties.”
