Jamie Squires, the former president of Fifth Avenue Real Estate Marketing, has joined RE/MAX Treeland Realty in Langley, B.C., bringing with her a team of up to six realtors who manage more than 200 pre-construction listings annually. The move signals a significant shift in the Fraser Valley’s new home market, consolidating significant pre-construction business under one of B.C.’s most established REMAX offices.
Squires spent more than two decades at Fifth Avenue, rising from marketing coordinator to president and overseeing a portfolio that brought more than 7,500 new homes to market across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, with total sales exceeding $10 billion. She is widely regarded as one of the foremost experts in pre-construction marketing and sales in British Columbia.
Don Kottick, President of REMAX Canada, worked with Squires during his time with both Sotheby’s International Realty and Peerage Realty Partners. He says her decision to join the network reflects a broader trend he has seen since taking the helm at REMAX Canada. “The pre-construction space in B.C. is incredibly competitive and developers are sophisticated. They want partners with real depth.” he says. “Jamie brings that depth. The fact she chose RE/MAX Treeland tells you something about where this brand is headed in this market.” For Spence Gatzke, owner of RE/MAX Treeland Realty, the hire closes a gap the brokerage had been deliberate about filling. “We’ve been the dominant resale office in Langley for a long time, but pre-construction is its own world and you need the right people to do it properly,” he says. “Jamie has spent her career mastering that world. There isn’t anyone better positioned to build this out for us.”
Squires says the scale and community standing of RE/MAX Treeland were decisive factors. “I’ve worked with a lot of offices over the years and what Spence has built here is unique. Agents who are embedded in the community, a reputation that opens doors, and a leadership team that thinks long-term,” she says.
