Municipal Candidate Open House to Connect Residents, Industry Leaders, and Municipal Candidates on September 9, 2026.
A coalition of leaders representing agriculture, business, housing, real estate, and property rights has come together under a shared vision for the future of Chatham-Kent.
The Chatham-Kent Growth Alliance (CKGA) has been established as a collaborative voice representing organizations that collectively drive significant economic activity, job creation, food production, housing
development, and investment throughout the municipality. The Alliance is being led by Kent Federation of Agriculture (KFA) and includes:
- Grain Farmers of Ontario – District 2
- Chatham-Kent Essex Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario Chatham-Kent Property Rights Association
- Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers
- Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors
- Chatham-Kent Home Builders Association
- Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce
Together, these organizations represent thousands of local residents, businesses, farmers, property owners, builders, and employers who share a common goal: supporting policies that foster sustained, responsible growth and prosperity for all who live and work in Chatham-Kent.
“While our sectors may have different perspectives, we are united by a shared belief that collaboration,
transparency, and long-term planning are essential to Chatham-Kent’s success,” said Jim Brackett, President KFA and member of the CKGA.
To support informed municipal leadership and public engagement ahead of the 2026 municipal election, CKGA will host a Municipal Candidate Open House on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Chatham-Kent Armories.
The event will provide residents and stakeholders with an opportunity to meet mayoral and council candidates and learn more about their vision for the municipality’s future.
The evening will focus on four priorities identified by CKGA members as essential to Chatham-Kent’s continued growth and competitiveness:
- Meaningful consultation early and often
- Fiscal responsibility and transparency
- Investment in critical infrastructure
- Fair and sustainable taxation
When agriculture, housing, business, and property owners speak with a unified voice, we can help create the conditions needed for sustainable growth and investment across Chatham-Kent,” said Carson Warrener, Director/Government Relations Chair for the Chatham-Kent Association of REALTORS® and Director – ChathamKent Home Builders Association.
The event will also feature a roundtable discussion where CKGA leaders will engage directly with candidates to
discuss these issues and explore practical solutions that support economic development, housing growth,
agricultural competitiveness, and long-term prosperity.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate in this important conversation about the future of Chatham-Kent.
